A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an outdated address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of junk messages, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also important to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming email messages to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be very easy in case you’ve got a Linux cloud hosting plan with us. You can activate the feature through our advanced, yet easy-to-use Email Manager tool, which is part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer the hosting account itself. You will see all the mailboxes that you’ve set up enumerated alphabetically and to the right of each of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately tell you if a certain mailbox gets all the email messages for a given domain name or not. With a single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option at any time. In case there’s activated email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you will receive a warning note from our system. The latter won’t deactivate/replace anything automatically or without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You’ll be able to create a catch-all address with no more than a click in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting plan with our company and your email messages are handled by our cloud hosting platform. All the email addresses that you set up with any domain hosted in the account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Each of them will have a small "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to activate this option will be to click that icon. In the same fashion you will be able to turn off the feature, if you no longer need it. Our system will notify you if you’re attempting to activate a second catch-all mailbox for a given domain name or if there is active email forwarding, but it’ll never disable or change anything automatically or without your approval.
